Position Summary: The RTP Business Product Management position is responsible for the activities of a team who works directly with the other RTP Product groups (Technical Product Management, Commercialization), customers, and users to understand the market problems and support best-in-class network hygiene to deliver on the brand promise of instant payments. This role ensures that our products are developed in alignment with TCH's overarching product strategy. The position would lead product design and modification and manage the activities of products within the TCH RTP product family. Their involvement spans all stages of a product's lifecycle, from inception and planning to maintenance and end-of-life decisions.
The candidate will work directly with financial institutions, corporate clients, and technology providers, as appropriate, to introduce them to the RTP Network, fully understand the market needs and opportunities, and assist with use cases and product ideation for the products or services that they will manage. Management, oversight, and leadership of working groups, sub-committees and pilot/proof of concept activities will be critical responsibilities.
Qualifications Required:
Bachelors degree in finance or a business-related discipline
10+ years of Product Management leadership experience planning, developing, and supporting product offerings preferably in the payments space; or
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform essential functions of the job.
Ability to identify, evaluate, and prioritize market needs and opportunities within a strategic framework that considers business, production, and technical viability and readiness.
Experience collaborating with legal and risk teams for product development, enhancement and oversight activities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively in business, operational and technical environments.
Qualifications Desired:
Knowledge of, or familiarity with, Pragmatic framework and agile methodologies.
Experience identifying, designing, and defining business requirements aligned with market needs.
Ability to develop high-level estimates for product delivery to include resource needs, cost and timelines.
Ability to manage and collaborate with cross-functional teams, structure complex work, and deliver desired outcomes.
Familiarity with research procedures concerning development of new technologies.
A strong working knowledge of excel and ad hoc reporting using AWS.
Ability to identify and develop actionable insights based on data.
Experience with payment products, operations, and technology
Project management knowledge and abilities.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Define and maintain a strategic vision and product development roadmap for assigned RTP products and services.
Foster a first-line risk mindset that integrates rigorous risk assessment and mitigation into all phases of product design.
Design, modify, and manage the life cycle activities for RTP specific products or feature functionality.
Work directly with FIs, corporate users, and vendors (as required) to promote RTP adoption and usage.
Contribute to planning, design, and delivery of pilots/proofs of concept for new RTP product initiatives.
Analyze and evaluate key industry partnerships that may assist in the delivery of future market solutions.
Track and evaluate the competitive landscape and relevant industry trends around instant and faster payments.
Manage or support topic specific Committees, Working Groups, or user groups involving multiple financial institutions.
Monitor and report product adoption and translate feedback into enhancement recommendations.
Establish strong relationships with financial institutions, their customers, and other TCH stakeholders.
Provide training to customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders, as required.
Ensures that all RTP products and capabilities meet specifications and quality goals.
Assist less experienced peers and take on team leadership roles.
Close partnership and collaboration with the RTP Technical Product Management Team
Detail orientation and ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Ability to handle multiple assignments while maintaining delivery deadlines.
Physical demands and work environment: The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available. Travel may be required. Candidates will report to the office 3 days each week. Onsite work requirements may change at any time.
The anticipated annual salary range for NY-based candidates in this position is $170,000 - $210,000. Base salary will be determined by the role, experience, skill set and location. For eligible positions, discretionary incentive compensation may be awarded contingent on personal and company performance.
