2025 Summer Internship Program - Marketing & Communications

About The Clearing House: The Clearing House (TCH) is a banking association and payments company that is owned by the largest commercial banks in the United States. TCH owns and operates the core payments system infrastructure in the US and is currently working to modernize that infrastructure by launching a new, ubiquitous, real-time payment system. TCH is the only private-sector ACH and wire operator in the US, clearing and settling nearly $2 trillion in US dollar payments each day, representing half of all commercial ACH and wire volume. TCH has provided critical services to the banking industry since 1853, and today, our core products facilitate services including Direct Deposit of payroll, bill payments, and check image exchange.

About the TCH Marketing & Communications Department: TCH's Marketing and Communications department supports business growth and objectives with marketing strategy that ensures The Clearing House is the provider of choice for our target markets with our modern and core payments networks, products, services, and advocacy work.

About TCH Marketing & Communications Summer Internship Program:

TCH Marketing & Communications Summer Internship Program is an 8-week experience for rising college juniors and seniors interested in the field of marketing. Interns will be in North Carolina. Over the course of the 8-week program, interns will have the opportunity to serve a supporting role in marketing and communication tasks and projects at TCH. Interns will assist in the execution of marketing for TCH’s core payment systems, payment services, general TCH communication and marketing needs, as well as employee communications and engagement. While working within our department, each intern is assigned a hands-on project, which culminates in a presentation to the Chief Operating Office’s senior leadership. Opportunities for the 2025 Summer Internship Program will have a focus on, but not limited to, the following capabilities:

  • Marketing Technology
    • Review contact data and contribute to the process of clean up in Salesforce CRM database.
    • Review send reports from SF Marketing Cloud and analyze month over month data
    • Research industry standards across digital marketing (send rates, open rates, etc) and include in monthly reporting.
  • Product Marketing
    • Audit TCHPA's educational content/websites for a competitive analysis
    • Contribute to the generation of content for RTP communications outreach and marketing, including content for TCH’s website
  • External Communications
    • Review and update TCH Member Bank Media/Communication Contact list, as well as Industry Trade Association Media/Communication Contact List
    • Assist with social media when needed
  • Employee Communication and Engagement
    • Contribute to the generation of content for TCH. Everyone, TCH’s intranet.
    • Internal employee events execution
  • General Marketing Support
    • Organizing inventory of giveaways
    • Participate in quarterly budget review and MarComm contract status reporting.
    • Review weekly TAC registration reports and validate registrations

Skills, Experience and Qualifications Required:

  • Currently enrolled, rising junior or senior, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, business administration, or a related area
  • Strong technical and PC skills (MS Office applications)
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of social media analytics

  • Ability to learn quickly and apply new concepts
  • Flexibility in adapting to various assignments and supporting team goals
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas

Physical demands and work environment: Work is generally sedentary in nature. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.

Employees in this position will report to the office 2-3 days per week.

Occasional travel may be required. Onsite work requirements may change at any time.
