Position Summary: The Clearing House has an opening for an Analyst to join our Enterprise Risk Management team in our New York, NY office. The ERM Analyst supports the Enterprise Risk Management team in all aspects of the enterprise-wide risk management program, focusing on Risk and Control Self Assessments, Issues Management, and reporting. Responsibilities include executing the organization’s ERM Framework, as well as facilitate interfacing with functional units to establish and communicate risk management methodology, processes, risk appetite and risk culture.
The role will ensure that the company appropriately prioritizes, manages, and monitors risk by collaborating with several departments and defining risk ownership. A successful candidate will contribute to the Risk Management program by bringing experience and first-hand knowledge to the enhancement and ongoing execution of the ERM program.
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor’s degree in risk management, business administration, management information system, mathematics, finance, economics, or a related area
2-3 years’ experience in a first or second line operational risk management program (preferably within Operations or Technology at a bank)
Experienced in performing risk assessments, e.g., RCSA.
Demonstrated success supporting enterprise-wide functions and projects, and multi-tasking on projects with competing priorities
Ability and eagerness to understand (at a high level) existing and emerging technologies, and to work with technical teams in a liaison-like capacity
Ability to understand management objectives, risk appetite, tolerances, and impact of changes to risk profiles.
Understanding of the financial regulatory environment for the banking industry and payment systems space
Maintain current knowledge of new regulations and emerging industry risks and report potential and/or actual enterprise impact to management
Ability to work independently and proactively. Collaborative, innovative, resourceful, results oriented, with appropriate judgment
Qualifications desired:
2+ years’ experience Business Intelligence tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc)
Strong knowledge of relational databases in Microsoft SQL
Strong knowledge of analytics scripting languages (Python, R, Power Query, etc)
Advanced skills in MS Office Suite (i.e. Excel Pivots, VLOOKUP’s, complex formulas, VBA etc.)
Experience with Agile, Operational Excellence certification
Familiarity with IT governance and controls, including governance and control frameworks, such as COBIT, ITIL, FFIEC, COSO or equivalent is a plus, but not required
RSA Archer or other GRC experience
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Transformation
The ERM Analyst role is an important member of the Risk Office and is responsible for contributing towards the design, development, implementation, and execution of the future state ERM Framework
The role will help support the team in transformational initiatives, managing roadmap/book of work, reporting on progress
Support execution of process streamlining and transition to better data, metrics and tooling improving risk management practices
Support the development of enhancement of Enterprise Risk Management training
Support/ development of Enterprise Risk Management SharePoint
Analysis and support on enterprise-wide change management, new product, and business governance analysis
RCSA
Support execution of firm wide RCSA, annual planning, implementation, and executive reporting
Work as an educator and partner by facilitating FLOD execution and performing SLOD challenge
Support the design and build of an enhanced RCSA process, data, and reporting
Apply sound judgment in evaluating risks and controls; effectively challenge first line of defense on the identification and disposition of risks, and the adequacy of controls
RRM (Risk Relationship Manager)
Risk Relationship Manager for business units
Identify, understand, and assess Information Technology and other enterprise risks associated with the operational processes
Follow up on Issues, Incidents and Remediation plans that require actions for respective business unit
Champion timely remediation of self-identified issues
GRC Tooling
Support POC (Proof of Concept) testing, design, build and implementation for new GRC tooling
Help support data analytics for better issues/ incident management reporting
Physical demands and work environment: Work is generally sedentary in nature. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available. Travel may be required.
Employees will report to the office two to three days each week. Onsite work requirements may change at any time.
The anticipated annual salary range for NY-based candidates for this position is $85,000-$95,000. Base salary and position level will be determined by the role, experience, skill set and location. For eligible positions, discretionary incentive compensation may be awarded contingent on personal and company performance.
