Business Continuity Analyst

Department: Risk, Controls and Analytics
Location: Winston-Salem, NC

Position Summary: The IT Business Continuity Associate will be responsible for developing, maintaining and improving technical recovery plans. The tasks include scheduling, planning and reporting on contingency events. This role will ensure TCH technical systems are delivering services to our customers as expected by monitoring, identifying, logging and resolving issues, including handling escalations to the Business Continuity Manager.

Qualifications Required:

  • Extensive knowledge in Business Continuity (BC) and Disaster Recovery (DR)
  • Knowledge and understanding of information technology, in distributed computing environments
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong organizational, project management, and decision-making abilities
  • 5+ years in the financial services industry

Qualifications desired:

  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work independently
  • Familiar with the Archer business continuity platform
  • Associate Business Continuity professional (ABCP) certification
  • Familiar with mainframe systems

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Execute continuity activities in accordance with the business continuity process framework
  • Provide governance over technical recovery plans to ensure the recovery objectives of the business can be achieved
  • Partner with infrastructure/application teams to ensure application designs align with recovery objectives
  • Coordinate tests of technical recovery plans, reviewing the results and taking action to resolve identified issues
  • Support technical recovery plan execution during the invocation and restoration of service to normal operating conditions
  • Ensure that all employees who have a role in the recovery phase are fully trained and aware of their roles and responsibilities
  • Review major changes that can have impact on technical recovery plans and updating the plans accordingly
  • Build and maintain technical recovery scripts for new and existing services
  • Some weekend work will be required

Physical demands and work environment: Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require standing and walking. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc.
