Position summary:
The Paralegal Analyst- Corporate Records functions as a valued member of the legal team, with a primary focus on the management and retention of essential corporate and historical records for The Clearing House Payments Company L.L.C., assisting with processing and responding to law enforcement and private litigation third-party subpoenas/summonses and providing support to senior members of the legal team in connection with legal services provided to all business lines and units of the company.
Qualifications required:
Bachelors degree required
Paralegal certification required, but will consider comparable experience in lieu of certification. Comparable experience includes at least 2 years of progressively greater scope of responsibilities or level of decision-making in a law firm or corporate legal department
Strong attention to detail
Ability to collaborate and interact professionally with other staff members and external parties
Ability to work independently and make necessary and appropriate decisions within appropriate ethical and legal parameters
Proficiency at the intermediate level in Word, Excel and SharePoint
Ability to effectively organize and present information orally and in written form
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications Desired:
Experience as a paralegal focused on document management related to litigation and regulatory matters in a large corporate legal department or in a law firm
Strong mastery of large corporate document management
Good project management skills, including establishment of project requirements and scope, developing time frames and deliverables, and managing a project to completion
Essential functions and responsibilities:
Manage the organization, retention and purging of all essential corporate records, including education and socialization of policy and procedure with TCH employees
Process law enforcement and private litigation third-party subpoenas/summonses
Review requests and conduct preliminary analysis related to proper service, request for appropriate data to which TCH can respond, additional needed information, and timeframe of request
Management of requests to technical staff for database searches
Review and initial analysis of data against requests and finalization of responsive data
Preparation of authentication affidavits, transmittal, reference materials, and pertinent responsive data
Assist legal staff in responding to outside requests for information, including the large scale organization and production of documents in response to regulatory requests for information and litigation discovery
Conduct research in support of legal team, as required
Physical demands and work environment: The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available. The position will require three days onsite - Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
