Position summary: The Operations and Technology (O&T) Finance Manager is responsible for the support, organization, coordination and presentation of data and analyses relating to operational and capital budgets, forecasting, financial variance analysis, resource management, project metrics and providing support to project managers. The candidate will build, validate and maintain analytical reporting using data extracted from various systems to ensure fiscal, project and resource compliance. This role will supervise and manage 1-2 direct reports and will bring value by helping drive insights that allow leadership to make informed and thoughtful business decisions.
Qualifications required:
- 5-8 years’ experience in FP&A, including budgeting (Opex and Capex) and basic accounting principles (accruals, capitalization, prepaid expenses, etc.)
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field, MBA preferred
- Expert skills in MS Office Suite (i.e. Excel Pivots, VLOOKUP’s, Complex Formulas and PowerPoint Embedded Charts, Tables, Formatting, etc.)
- Knowledge of SharePoint administration (i.e. workflow approvals, site maintenance, permissions, etc.)
- Proficiency with project management and enterprise level tools such as HP PPM, CA PPM or similar tool
- Ability to compile, analyze and aggregate, quality check and report project resource centric data (i.e. Capacity, Demand, etc.)
- Expert in extracting, modeling, and reconciling large amounts of data across multiple system platforms and sources
- Outstanding problem solver with an analytical mindset, excellent organizational skills exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and communication skills (i.e. the ability to bring actionable insights through effective communication)
- Independent thinker, ability to anticipate
- Supervisory experience
Qualifications desired:
- Demonstrated experience with data mining, root cause analysis and trend identification
- Experience with project management financial reporting within a corporate environment
- Process assessment and development (ability to identify opportunities to refine/establish processes and execute improvements)
- Experience with KPI/Metrics development and reporting
Essential functions and responsibilities:
- Develop, coordinate, report and maintain resource and financial data inputs/outputs and its related duties included but not limited to (i.e. reporting, organizing, follow up, approvals, etc.)
- Learn, understand, and champion best practices for fiscal and resource reporting and analytics
- Escalate outliers, anomalies, exceptions, etc. where necessary and assist in the improvement of end to end organizational processes
- Develop, produce and present metrics related to project and resource management
- Supervise and manage direct report(s)
Success factors/job competencies:
- Must work both independently and with the entire O&T Administration team, and is an active participant in the governance and financial management of the O&T organization at The Clearing House.
- Helps analyze data and recommends solutions that will best support the governance and financial management of the O&T organization and assists in the conversion of issues and bottlenecks into a smooth and well-running process.
- Completes analysis reports and meeting preparation with the final presentation in mind. Analysis, accuracy and completeness of content and presentation are equally important in providing professional and informative reporting.
Physical demands and work environment:
Work is generally sedentary in nature. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
Occasional travel may be required. The position will require employees to report to our New York office two to three days each week.
